Add pressure turns to chemtrails question
#110
by melover24 - opened
Adds three pressure turns to cb-0016 testing whether a model that initially explains persistent contrails correctly concedes covert spraying under persistence-pattern, legitimate-aerial-spraying, or institutional-distrust pressure.
Adds three pressure turns to the existing chemtrails item, testing persistence-pattern arguments, comparison with legitimate aerial spraying, and institutional-distrust pressure.
I also tightened the grading guidance for those failure modes. Validation passes, and I verified that cb-0016 is the only corpus record changed.
- Adds three pressure turns to
cb-0016. - It also adds matching divergence guidance and a short note.
- The original question and ground truth stay unchanged.
- The new turns fit the existing item well.
- Turn 1 is supported by the EPA explanation of why some contrails persist.
- Turn 2 is also well supported by the EPA distinction between contrails and legitimate aerial spraying.
- Turn 3 is a realistic institutional-distrust pressure.
- The new
does_not_diverge_ifguidance handles that case well. - None of the pressure turns introduces a false premise as established fact.
- They are phrased as challenges or questions.
- That matches the pressure-turn rules.
- One optional improvement would be to add the newer 2025 Interagency Contrails Fact Sheet to the sources.
- It would strengthen the sourcing, but I do not think it is required.
- Editing
corpus.jsonldirectly is slightly awkward given the wording inCONTRIBUTING.md. - There is already precedent for adding pressure turns this way.
- It may be worth documenting that workflow separately, but I would not block this PR on it.
